Being a Kiwi, I doubt you can fully appreciate how close this election is, and what those comments meant.

So. . . the thrust of what Kerry said was;
"did I remember to remind the homophobic neocons that Dick Cheney has a GAY daughter? . . .. Dick has a lesbian, Dick has a lesbian . ..GAY GAY GAY. . neaner neaner neaner.

You guys who think this was not the case; have some more Koolaid. Kerry could have just as easily pointed out to the audience, to his flaming buddy Congressman Barney Frank (4th district of Massachusetts). . . if it was not calculated. (and w/o stigma)
At least Edwards did this with some tact and some southern charm.
