I guess I should have taken pictures as I was putting this thing together.
Anyway, I lined up the front of the pod with the edge of the console where the tan part stopped. Then I rotated the pod to face the driver. The distance between the back edge of the pod and the console surface was 2 3/4 inches. So I had to cut a wedge of the foam that was that thick on the back side.
There are two longish screws holding everything together, through the pod and foam into the plastic rear cover of the console and the floor just below the console.
I had already hooked up the gauge wires, so I didn't feel like disconnecting them to run them through the bottom of the foam for complete concealment. that's why the corrugated wire cover is visible in the pic. Not visible in the car though.
