db, when I say "clean glass," unfortunately I mean CLEAN glass. Ammonia does not do the trick, and it's not easy actually getting glass clean. So, good luck. There are some superior glass cleaners out there. The one I use was recommeded by an auto body shop, and they were right. The can is white and blue, and I think it's got an image of a housewife on it. You know, dress and apron. Actually I think it's June Cleaver.

That stuff works. PM me if you want the brand name. It lives in my trunk, so it's just a few hundred yards away.
