P221, P222 Con.Rod, chain support tools orientations when meeting halves?

1. Is there a proper orientaion for the rods for these tools, before meeting case halves? Diagram 3-19 page 131, it appears the #1 cylinder rod is up dog-leg to the right. The three rod looks like it's relative right in the middle of the flywheel seal.

2. If the above is the proper orientation(s) for the rods, do you rotate the crank in a particular method to achieve this, before meeting the halves?

3. #1 and #2 rod supports appear to be facing a different direction than #3?

4. When the halves do meet, is there plenty of clearance in pulling them out?

Thanks
