If I understand your question correctly, then the answeris YES. I am assured they can be switched with excellent result. I suspect you are asking whether the two "inboard" joints (the ones bolted to the drive flanges coming out of the tranny) can be switched. Yes, they can.
If this is not your question, then consider this: the point is to switch them so that the engine's power is pushing them the opposite direction from before. the horsepower then bears on previously unused (except in deceleration) race surfaces.
