Officially an owner now...lots of questions!(long)

well today i offically call myself a 911 owner technically i've owned the 79 911sc since late december, but i got all of the needed work done over the last few days and can drive it without (too much) worry now.
First off, i want ANY porsche 911 owner around the sacramento area to know about the guy who did all of the work, Jimmy Deering (Porsche Works). i have found the last mechanic I will use, this guy is the best. he does mobile repair and does a great job. very detailed, careful, honest, cant say enough about him. he took an hour and a half to check out my car, free of charge, and gave a detailed list of whats needed to be done, what he suggests to do, and optional work. for me, he did the tensioners, just about all the seals, tuning and a few other small things, not extreme work, but this was the first time and i would not hesitate to use him again, and i will. i recommend to anyone in the area looking for a mechanic to use him, you wont be disappointed, especially the part that he only charges 35 an hour. plenty of experience too, used to work for T&D in campbell, ca. i also really liked that he had no problem with me looking over his shoulder and would stop and explain anything i wanted to know. his email is porscheworks@aol.com, give him an email if you want more info. PM me also if you want his phone number.

ok, now on the important part, the car. after jimmy did some fine tuning, he said to drive it around alot to get things set and broken in, and i had no problem doing that.
coming from a 914, i found the 911 had better and worse things IMHO. i really like the extra comforts of the 911, like more dash lights especially, and more cabin room, plus, and this may sound egotistical, but there defiantly is a "cool"factor with the 911. my suspension is quite warn, so i cant comment on that yet, but i was a bit suprised with the lack of power so far. i'm not sure if this is just my car, or jus tthe way it is, i have a feeling some things still need to be adjusted in my car.
first question...about how far is the accelerator pedal supposed to travel? mine seems to only go 2, maybe 3 inches at the most, which doesnt seem normal to me, the car will rev up high, but never gets there very fast, even in neutral, which makes me think the cable or pedal needs to be adjusted, any suggestions?
next, the car seems to idle fine and run good though the lower rpms', but if i'm in any gear and rev past 3500, a loud noise and vibration comes though the car, hard to explain what it is, but does this sound normal?
also, i want to change the shift bushings and pedal bushings but is there a way to tell for sure if they are warn? it doesnt seem too expensive to do both so i probably will anyways, but it'd be nice to know what to look for in the future.
any other suggestions on things to adjust or change to get those little extra hp's would be a lot of help!

thanks everyone!
