I have run 40 webers and 40 dells. I am currently running 45 dells. Dells has a different design that moves off idle much better than a Weber. Dells are much easier to tune. You don't have to disassemble the carb to change jets. They are made right and left handed, have vacuum ports, and parts are cheaper (Weber venturi $21, Dell $11). Still are readily available.

Biggest drawback, they are NLA. You can still find them on the web, sometimes on ebay. (two sets of 45s in the last 3 weeks)
