I've used the same Pertronix unit for ....what.....5-6 years.
2 things can fu....oops...Pelican.....mess em' up.
1) getting 2 wires crossed.
2) leaving the ignition on ( without the engine running) for an expended period.
If you can't deal with either....you're in the Zs class.
