I've spent some time finding a good looking, inexpensive cupholder solution and have finally found one. Brookstone in the mall makes a sturdy cupholder that mounts onto an a/c vent. The cupholder by itself can be attached directly to the black centerpiece between the seats (with the heating controls) with heavy duty double sided wall mounting tape. It sits level and holds drinks very well; all for about $20.
