A high quality chrome job is probably overall most durable. Doesn't chip, doesn't stain, etc. But if done wrong, can fail by bubbling up, pitting, etc.

Anodizing is durable, but can be stained by various substances and cleaners.

Powdercoating is very durable - pretty much impervious to cleaners, brake dust, etc. but can be chipped.
