I don't think a G50 with 59K and no symptoms of problems would qualify as worn out. As to the direction of spin, it is related to the amount of slip at the factory, (40%). Perhaps this circumstance is specific with G50. I would request another owner of an 87 to 89 to try. Whatever, I am planning to put a Quaife in when a do a gear ratio change. Did you see that the new M3 has a fully adjustable rear slip from 0 to 100%. Neat feature.
