Hi,
First post (but not first read). I have same car and yearmodell and same knob there.
No dim lights in rear or front.
I'm putting in a new stereo this weekend so I hope I can figure it out by crawling under it on the same time.
B.t.w. thanks alot everybody for all the knowledge and wisdom that you have. It's pretty true that knowledge is something that you can get by reading but wisdom is something you only can get by trying...

EDIT! The knob is a fader. I believe it comes with option M 494 2 loudspeakers on backlight shelf. It was still being connected to my old stereo. Car stereos of today has this functionality built in.
