'78 SC (essentially same as Carrera) with 245x45-16 rear (never a problem at the rear) and 225x50-16 fronts with no rubbing, this car has rolled front lips and 1.25 deg neg. camber. However, as I'm sure you know every car is slightly different and not all tires are the same (even if they are all "225"). The 225 designation can vary (IIRC) as much as 7/8" in width from one brand to another. Just as a data-point I'm using Kumho 712's on my car.
