My sister received a 2ct. diamond ring for her engagement.... quite frankly, it looks stupid... what a garish thing to wear on your hand (something like that should only be mounted in a necklace)
If she doesn't accept a good quality ONE carat ring gracefully, then I believe you will have uncovered her true nature, and she should hit the road. Demands for foolish things only get worse with time, not better. Your love should be her only concern.
