Buy a pair of insulated spark plug wire pliers and pull each spark plug wire from the distributor until you find a cylinder were pulling the wire doesn't change the rpm of the engine. That the dead cylinder. Unless you feel like getting shock, the insulated pliers are a good investment. I keep mine in the glove compartment.
The timing light may work, but if you have a bad injector, the spark plug will still fire. My was a bad injector.
