Harald I am pretty sure for this year its 3.0 litres NA and next year they are stepping down to 2.4 litre v8's. As far as power think closer to 1000hp, Honda has been spinning their 2.4 into the low 20k's already and making a bit north of 800.
How about the BMW 1.4 litre I4 turbo pushing 1100 in race trim and 1400 in qualifying with intercoolers covered in dry ice and usually blowing up right after a flying lap.
As far as I am concerned who gives a flying hoot what production, road legal, road going car is fastest at the ring. How about my best friends sister's boyfriend/fiance who's father just bought a CGT about 4 months ago, he drives it out of his garage to wash it then it goes right back in. Shoot he even bought a little fuel tank for his house so he doesnt have to take it to the gas station to tank up. Then every now and then you actually see someone driving it on the road that isnt a Porsche tech or prospective buyer test driving it.
