The regulator, which includes the brushes, is a module mounted on the alternator and is very easy to replace. I have charging problems after cleaning all the charging cable connections and grounds in the sense that with the headlights on and the cooling fan running, the charging voltage drops to around 13.7V, where it doesn't recharge the battery in a reasonable time.

There has been discussion here before about using an aftermarket regulator that comes set to 14.4V instead of the stock regulator which comes set to 14.1V. Now comes this other one set to 14.5V and I wonder if that .1V makes any difference.
