Mine did this to me as well. I bit the bullet, cut open the door panel and monkeyed with the linkage to get the door open. Lots of fun... Then I picked up younger door handle, lock mechanism and linkage and rekeyed the lock cylinder.

No matter how much I scratched my head, I couldn't figure out a way to get the door open without cutting into it. This seems to be a hallmark of the breed, because our 931 has showed signs of going the same way. You could just adjust the linkage once you get into the door and save yourself having to replace lots of stuff, but once the rods start to get metal fatigue, there's not much to be done.
