The passenger mirror doesn't go in the same place as the Driver's side as you probably already know. I had to learn the hard way.
Kinda defeats it's purpose when you can't use it. Piller in the way...right ???
Brace your self for body work. Ask me again how I know'd.
You can repaint them. Very easily. And when done, get some black vinyl mirror covers for them. Or just get the covers and forget it. They hide a multitude of sins and knicks.
