It is a pretty cool car... Depends on what you need really... You are getting into "used boxster and 993" territory for the money ! But if it replaces Her Prelude then it's definitely a nice step...
Looks nice, drives well, steering felt a bit heavy to me when I test drove it but I am accustomed to 2WD mid/rear engine Porsches with light steering. Also the power of that VR6 is decent but not "kick in the pants" type... very linear, which is good but not as impressive... Typical VW gearbox too..
Bear in mind that VW is bringing the new golf in R32 guise in the US next year probably...read something in AutoWeek about that... Not a bad car at all, but almost 2x the price of a base model.
I think one could Chip a 1.8 T and have a faster car ! NOw if you need 4WD, it's another story !
