911s demand respect. Period.
You will not learn how to drive a 911 to the limit on the road if you are at all normal. Definately do a DE. I went a different route though. Unused parking lot. Took corners in the stupidest ways so that I would learn what to do. Spun it a couple of times, got some awesome powerslides others.
Also, once the road is wet all bets are off. I remember one time I was going to make a left turn at an intersection during a moderate rain. I yield to let some honda woman going the opposing direction turn ahead of me. She instead wants me to go. You have the right of way B*&#H!. I try to wave her by but she is one relentless waiter. So I finally give up, gun it and believe it or not start to fishtail wildly. So what do you do in a 911 to stop a fishtail? Get on the loud pedal! So I proceded to do so and I didnt stop fishtailing until top end of 2nd (thats like 60 right?). This was on a 30 mph road. Needless to say that has to be the scariest thing possible to watch from the honda woman's perspective.
Moral of the story: 911s are fun
But seriously be careful out there guys, especially if you dont have any DE experience or it is raining.
