I spun my car a few months after I got it in a similar fashion.
I came out with only a dent in the driver front fender. The road was just a touch wet but what I discovered was the rear tires were worn down almost to no tread. The thing was it was only in the center of the tires.

The last couple of inches towards the sidewalls still had tread so you really could not tell how worn they were unless you got down really low.

Just thought you might have had a similar problem.
