A retractable wont work on your 88 unless you are willing to undergo some serious "remodeling" of your deck lid and engine compartment The cost of the electronic tail...(it takes it's own motor, gears and wiring) can be astronomical. I guess you really have to ask yourself what it is you want. Do you want the retractable because it is hidden when not in use, or do you want it so you can watch it go up and down? Do you not want the Carrera tail because it is to "cumbersom"? The turbo tail as you know is much larger... Me personally, since you asked, if your car has clean paint, a one piece carrera would look good painted entirely the same color as your car. No black lip...
