Near my garage is a industial supply hardware store. The place is nut and bolt heaven. They had an assortment of different size round plastic spacers. You can check your local store, even Home Depot or Lowe's depending where you live. My garage is in Ma. I would have prefered stainless spacers but I couldnt find any. Drilling through the plate seems common, I see it done on cars in 911 and Porsche World Magazine. It actually looks decent..TargaEuro
