I have a 10' ceiling in my garage, and a 2 post lift. It works fine for my Porsches, but anything bigger and I have to sit on a stool underneath.
The company that made the lift shortened the crossbar on top and the lift cables. I removed the garage door opener, that bay is not used on a daily basis and it makes for more clearance.
I can actually stand under the lift comfortably, but I am only 5'6" tall..... YMMV.
