Hello All:

I recently discovered a strange noise coming from the middle, maybe a little towards the passenger side, of the dash, actually from well in behind the dash, you can hear it pretty good from the front trunk area if you pull the carpet up and open the hatch that contains the AC stuff, but I can not get close enough to determine what it may be. The sound can be desribed as the sound a bilge pump on a boat makes when it does not have enough water to pump, except this sound is more of a rattle, it does not change pitch or frequency, just rattle for a second or so, then OK, then repeats..It sounds like a pump of some sort going bad, I replaced the fuel pump new about 1 year ago, it hums and I have no performance issues..
SO, what else could it be, what else is back deep behind the middle dash that could be a source for this noise,

More info:

happens with engine running at idle, most likely just can't hear it at higher revs,
no fan or AC on...
