The whole event was a fundraiser for the Ronald McDonald house(s) in the Dayton area. I think the hand paint on the car was just another way of raising funds, but also to get children involved. The paint was water soluable (?sp), so it washed right off (..er, after the event of course). I forget how many hands they got on the car...the website might have a photo of the "finished" vehicle.
