thanks for stopping by and providing some pointers...so, to follow up on suggestions...

Deffo have fuel - even had flames out tail pipes after trying to start with some throttle open

Spark im not sure about - the fact it fires nice then dies tells me that I must have a decent spark. I swapped dizzy cap and rotor arms and was as carefull as I could be with leads - only thing im not 100% on is bottom bank lead location since I took no pics so had to guess based on how the leads layed.

Dont have a timing light - mayeb I should bite bullet and buy one. Dizzys werent adjusted since engine was removed and working fi9ne so I assume that is all good.

Flywheel sensor - I have set it as close as it will go without modifying (as per timmins directions) so other than it being faulty im not sure what to fo there.

The fail to run is so constantly the same im sure it is a problem I have just overlooked

please continue with the suggestions, too cold to go and look now but will check all options in the morning.
