The rock guards (according to the Haynes manual) are easily removed with a heat gun. Check the manual for all details but it seems pretty straight forward. As for the painting....the paint stores should be able to look the number up for you, however I'm not sure about the euro models....that may be different. As for painting, I have some articles on how to paint, but I know that requires artistic talent....sorry can't help there.
