Funny you should email. I've just got a call from the garage. They have got the car, and will have for the remainder of the week.
Basically, the problem looks to be coming from around the heater box. Not good.
The garage are going to have to get the heater box out and check it out and all the areas surrounding it - this may involve taking out the dash which in itself isnt a small job.
Expense - no idea, neither do the garage as they are unusure of the amount of time needed to get at the heater box.
Aparantly though the mechanic has sat (upside down) in the car and looked up at the heater box etc (where your feet would normally be) and can see the water pouring in etc. He used to work for Lotus so has dealt with similar probs. At least we've found the area the water is coming in. As I know see it, we need to get the heater box out, find a hole (Im kinda hoping there is one) around the box somewhere, seal it and we're good to go.
