I have a bare shell which requires lots of metal work. The rust is so excessive in some areas I was told it wouldnt be worth the trouble, and basically cant be repaired. I really dont want to send a porsche shell off to its death, and would rather save it for another "new" life.

If one was to be given the option, would you:
1. Swap a new drivetrain into it, and build the car around the drivetrain? (such as sti awd, ls1 v8, 4g63 evo, or, and other good choice?)
2. junk it.

At the point it is at, it can never be returned to porsche standards, nor would i find it acceptable, so my other thoughts were to "build" the car round a new powerplant, which would replace a lot of the useless rusted metal anyways.
porsche enthusiasts, who hate these engine conversion(mixing blood) I would like to hear from as well.

some ideas:
-sti engine, w/ awd converted, at around 500hp range
-ls1 kept rwd, or possible awd as well.
-evo 6g63
-rotary(altough no torque, or major power really)
-some other highly boosted motor?
