The 78'/79' induction and exhaust will limit your gains in the jump from 3.2 to 3.4 so in reality it's more than an extra $1200 if you want the full benifit of the increase to 3.4Ls. That being said it will still work and you will have a lot of punch below 4k RPMs. You just won't be able to realize the big HP potential of having 3.4Ls.

The 3.4 conversion will make for a fun street car but considering that you like to track the car it might be better to spend the extra cash on improvements to the induction and exhaust.

If you do go for the 3.4L package you would probably be better off going with some larger headers instead of the SSIs. They'll give you more top end and will help offset the cost of the 98mm P+Cs when compared with the price of the SSIs.

I guess it really comes down to intended use for the car and it's long term plans.

P.S. If it were me I would port the heads to Carrera spec 40I 38E or find a set of Carrera heads to swap out and buy a used 3.2 induction, harness and brain. Then install 1 5/8" headers
