In case anybody cares, a little follow-up. I found one. Robert Burns, "Red, Red Rose." Intended to be delivered with a half-smile, in a thick Scottish accent and a Scottish flat-cap. Operational testing was performed in the field last night, with satisfactory results.
Oh, me luve's like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June.
Oh, me luve's like a melody
That's sweetly played in tune.
As fair art thou, me bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I.
And I weel luve thee steel, my dear,
Till all the seas gang dry.
Till all the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun.
And I weel luve thee steel, my dear,
While the sands o' life do run.
So fare thee weel, me only luve,
And fare thee weel a while,
For I will come again, me luve,
Though i'twer ten thousand mile.
