I just traded the WRX wagon on an '06 Jetta TDI. Like it a lot (though it'll never be described as 'peppy'), already getting around 40mpg without trying hard.
EXCEPT: The shift knob is a chintzy piece of rubber with a black plastic cap on the end that gets SCREAMING hot in the sun. I'd like to replace it with a nice solid wooden knob, maybe a burl or Macassar ebony or something. But damned if I can't find anything online. Anyone have any ideas? FWIW our kindly host generates a lovely error page when I try to find something:

I'm looking for something classy, btw. Not ricey.
