Did Porsche ever make a 912 rally car
I just looked at a 66` 912 thats buried with 100+ lawnmovers surrounding it. The owner says its an original rally car with 150hp. I looked at the engine and it is a normal looking 912 engine but has a much larger crank pulley and the super rare sand cast solex carbs. The suspension is standard issue as is the brakes. Steel wheels . The speedo was different however. It was either 150mph or 180mph(forgot) .
I can buy the car for $2k but its in very sad shape. I know the carbs alone go for around $2500 so its a wash on that alone. Im just not convinced anything else on this heap is worth digging out.
Anyone ever hear of such an animal ?
