i remember reading something (maybe in bruce andersons book) about 2.4 L being the limit of the displacement without an external oil cooler. the 2.7 had a "trombone" loop cooler as i recall and my 83 sc has the same. many ads for 6's for sale say E specs. i'd say to match your motor to driving style and comfort, that is, high revving engine not good for commuting but good for racing. there is a GT oil cooler if you go greater displacement.
