I sold my 930 and bought a Cayman S. It's a great car, probably the best car I have ever owned. The mid-engine layout, suspension, power, brakes, trans., interior , etc. are all perfect.
The Cayman S is very quick. I would dare say as quick as my stock 930. I can take on-ramps and off-ramps at a much faster pace than I was able to with the 930.
The price of building the 930 to the level I desired would have exceeded the price of a no-options Cayman S with $5000 discount off the sticker price (which my dealer offered me). Granted, the 930 would have been one helluva a lot faster, but it still wouldn't have had the creature comforts I sought. The car is used frequently on New England roads, with my wife in the passenger seat (or occasionally driving).
I do miss my 930 for many reasons, especially the thrill of boost, but most importantly for the driver-car connection. I believe this is the main reason I love the air-cooled 911s, nostalgia factor aside. Suffice it to say, I will be buying an SC in the near future, to celebrate the 20% depreciation on my Cayman S.
