The trigger hinges internally on a small shaft.
It doesn't get any lube there and over the years the metal on the trigger just wears through.
To fix it, you have to take the door panel off and remove the door handle. Then you can dismantle the handle to get at the trigger.
I don't know if the part can be bought seperately; I am trying to find a used handle.
My door panel, and handle, is off and I cannot drive now.
A lot of work for a small item.
Oh, what fun.
