Well from digging around the net for a couple hours, I think I've got the perfect blend of time/easiness-money-final product.
Lindsey's cnc head is only $500. That alone is good news.

That's the essential part. With that, I'd do a good sachs clutch and fidanza flywheel, new torque tube bearings. The lower 1st gear would be nice, so I won't need a new trans, although I'll keep my eye out for an LSD.
So what is the math for the 2.8 stroker? I see the pistons and rods, but what crank? The 3.0 968 crank?
