Now you see why many of us put up with the summers in Arizona to enjoy 9 months of heaven on earth. Sedona is one hour drive from my house and we go there often for lunch on Saturday or Sunday just for fun.
There are also some very nice roads around Prescott and that area, combined with beautiful forests.
