the cost of killing
Interesting quote on an internet calendar I just got from Visibone:
"It cost about $0.75 to kill a man in Caesar's time. The price rose to about $3K per man during the Napoleonic wars, to $5K in the American Civil War, and then to $21K per man in World War I. Estimates for the future wars indicate that it may cost the warring countries not less than $50K for each man killed"
- Homer Truet Bone
ed's note: Bone was a US Senator during WWII. The 2003-2006 Iraq War cost $11M per enemy killed
