After 911 the Shadow Minister of Defense for the UK said, before Parliment "America has guarnteed Global security since 1945, if America fails to act (respond to 911) Global security will fail."
If the US becomes "isolationist" the world will fall into a multiude of armed camps. The result will be a much more chaotic world. The consequence is economic instability and Global Depression the likes of which we have not seen before.
