Which of these is conciderred a more reliable day to day runner:
'84-89 Carerra or an '89- 93 964 C2 .
I am toying with the idea of selling the '71 targa and getting a more modern coupe which I can use for a day to day runner and be able to leave outside in exposed parking etc.
The wife has bagged the Golf GTI for the new baby.
I was going to get another car - station wagon or MPV/mini van!.
But that would leave the targa sitting in the garage and never getting used.
So, a reasonable option seems to sell the targa and let it go to a new home and purchase something which I can drive the snot out of and occaisonally leave in public parking for a few days at end.

The Carerra maybe is more purist and easier to work on- however I have not done much work on any of my cars in the past few years!

The 964 C2 is more modern and has better A/C- important here in the Mediterranean.

Amazingly the prices for 964 C2's is the same or less than for Carerras in the UK.
The prices here in France apear silly and Germany does not have many better options.

The 993 is unfortunately out of my budget as I feel I can get a much better 964 than a shabby 993.

Budget- about 15-17 UK pounds
