This is not generally done, as the correct ignition energy is produced by the Motronic system which fires the coil directly.

The MSD 6AL is better suited to earlier carbureted or MFI cars where its multiple sparks below 3000 rpm are effective at keeping the plugs clear. The superior mixture control of the Motronic system obviates the need for such a system with the 3,2 Carrera.
