WHen you get older you have to work on strength and flexibility. Ice is your friend for all you sprains and strains.
Glucosamine and Chondroitin are more for cartilage/arthritis issues, yours sound more like tendonitis, anti-inflammatories are what you are after.
I disagree about the weights. As you age, you lose lean muscle mass. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so if you lift weights and increase lean mass, you have a faster idle so to speak, burn more calories at rest. This is particularly important for women, if any are reading this.
