Rain-X is nothing more than wax disolved in isopropyl alcohol. The same stuff you smell in a doctor's office. ...RarlyL8
Don't believe it - even if you read it.... It's true that Rain X is apparently 'alcohol based' - but if that's all it was - don't you think there would be 1/2 dozen products that work just as well ?
'Aquapel' or some such thing is the only one they compare it to on the net. Patents aren't just handed out for nothing.

I've been in doctor's offices.....nothing similar. But if I did find doctors offices doing this I would convert to Christian science instantly - as regards seeing doctors. ...Also, WD 40 *IS* a very pleasant product that is terrific. Except for a real 'fluke' occurence - you do NOT need anything else to help with bolts. CRAFTSMAN Sockets are your lifeblood along with WD 40.

Some of you guys seem to say you can't drive your porsche in rain(happily) without this product - and I'm trying to refute that. Remember that saying by (guess) Emerson - "Our lives are frittered away by complication...simplify, simplify !"

Very true statement.

ps. I just dissolved some carnuba wax into rubbing alcohol and the garage air is not foul at all. For the moment, hesitate to apply it to the glass.....more to come.
