Well, I'm starting to think it isn't the fuel pump but there is a noise that was there that is no longer there when I turn the ignition on. It has been replaced with a whine or ring coming from the left of the engine compartment. There appears to be a fuel filter and I think the rear fuel pump there as well as another bosche box that I am unaware of what purpose it is. I'm not sure which the whine is coming from as it is pretty high pitched. I held a tube up to all the parts and my ear but it really didn't sound like it was coming from any of them. It may be lower in the compartment but I was unable to find the cause. When I raise the pressure plate inthe air box I do not hear the pump come on but when I remove the relays I hear a noise and when I plug it back in I hear a noise.

I'm starting to suspect something ignition related.

Oh, and I put 1 gallon of gas in just in case.
