Very useful. Getting the flange nut off should be no prob. My retired heavy duty mechanic neighbor has a 1 11/16 (approx 41mm) box wrench that will slide right down the shaft. Torquing a new one back on will be a bit trickier without that extended socket, but I thought I might try standing on a bathroom scale while I torque on the wrench until my weight is reduced by an appropriate amount for the length of wrench.
I'm still waiting to hear from Pelican re: the bearing. I think they have it mis-described. I'm all set once I confirm they have it. Thanks for your input guys!
I was having a brain-fart when I asked how to get the bearing off... this is exactly how I got the pinion shaft apart!! I guess I was just thinking I could somehow get the roller bearing off without disturbing the 4 point bearing. Not practical or necessary.
I wonder what awaits me next?
