I got lucky. During the two years I have had my 85, I have only spent money on oil. Done the services myself.

Well, not entirely true. Not out of necessity but rather passion for working on the car, I have spent some money on upgrades.

The common story hence. With finding a good car to begin with, the maintenance cost is usually acceptable, if not down right low. Certainly if one does the work oneself. It is the growing wish to update and upgrade that cost money.
