Hi Jeff,
I will be using a DC44 cam, as per camgrinder. This would give a peak HP above 6500 rpm. This would give a possible shift point in the low 7000 rpms.
Based on experience with my current motor, a 3.2 ss with ITB and twin plug and 993 supercup cams, my peak torque and HP rpms are about 500 rpm higher than expected. I would therefore like to build a motor that could run up to 7500 or 8000 rpm if needed.
I am not looking to build a high rpm motor, for high rpm sake, but would hate to build a motor of 6800 rpm, only to find that I need another 700 rpm to reach peak HP.
This motor is being built as a race motor in 2180 lb SC.
Now that should be fun!!!
My current 3.2 motor is strong enough to give 964 RS CS cars a challenge, if not having faster lap times. I only battled with being slightly under powered. This is the reason to build the ultimate 3.5l.
My current motor is sold, and once the money comes through, the spending will begin. Watch out camgrinder, pelican, and EBS.
